The focus of our Milwaukee based Shotokan Karate club is the practice and teaching of the kihon (basic techniques), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring drills) of traditional Shotokan karate and its philosophy.

The philosophy of Shotokan Karate Association Wisconsin is expressed in the dojo kun (motto) of Gichin Funakoshi, which states the practitioner of traditional karate should:

• Seek perfection of character.
• Be faithful.
• Endeavor.
• Respect others.
• Refrain from violent behavior.

We associate ourselves and are supported by the American Amature Karate Federation AAKF Great Lakes Region, Japan Karate Association International of United States and International Traditional Karate Federation.
